Kick Ass - Do Not miss it!

Last week I happened to go the the preview of Kick Ass, and how pleased I was to have been to the preview.
The movie blows you away. There are many surprises in the movie. Some of them simply make u think ...that surely cant be happening....he should be dreaming....Kudos to the director for the unbelievable twists in the story. There are odd moments of stupidity in the film...and the climax/end is the major, and probably the only one, letdown of the film. The best part of the movie ofcourse is the HitGirl. Everything about her is great. Her dialogues, her costume and her Wig.

The verdict:
The movie is a must watch for unbelievable twists in the story and the dialogues of Hitgirl.

Top 5 Movies of 2009

We are almost into the third month of 2010, and its high time that I had come out with a list of the best movies of the year just gone.
So what are we waiting for? Here goes the list for all you guys out there on the net.

1. Inglorious Bastards
Forget the history books. And if you havn't read history before, I am sorry to say that your knowledge of history is about to change for ever and that too for the bad :). Brad Pitt does a great job and so do all the other actors in the movie. A typical Tarantino movie with an extra comic flavour.
Bring on Sin City 2!

2. The Hangover
The movie is incredibly funny. Some of the incidents depicted in the movie are just out of the world and unimaginable. I wonder what was the screen writer thinking when writing the script. Imagine the reaction of director and the actors when they they first read the script. I m sure it would have been..."NUTS!"
Kudos to the director for making my day.

3. Up in the Air
Finally a Hollywood movie with a great screenplay. There is no action, stunts, comedy, special effects etc. as one is used to expect from a Hollywood movie. The screenplay, dialogues, acting and the script is what makes the movie standout. You will not be bored - even if you are a fan of action, stunts, or friends like comedy.
Great movie!

4. Avatar 3D
Though the story isn't great, the first ever real 3D movie makes it a must watch.
Dont even bother to watch Avatar 2D.

5.Up
Purely for its great visual and the talking dogs ofcourse :)

The list will be lengthened shortly. Keep visiting.

Great Japanese Animation movies (in English)

Hayao Miyazaki is the greatest director of animation movies in Japan. His animation movies have a simple story and yet have a depth in it. As a result the movies appeal both to the children and the adults alike. Unlike the animations of Pixar and Disney, Miyazaki's animations are hand drawn. His movies are well recognised even in the West . He won the OSCAR in 2001 for Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away) in the Best Animated Feature category.

Spirited Away is easily his best work till date and the great visuals and colors simply leave you awestruck.

Here is a list of his great films you should not miss an opportunity to watch.

Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi AKA Spirited Away (2001)
Mononoke-hime aka Princess Mononoke (1997)
Tonari no Totoro aka My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
Hauru no ugoku shiro aka Howl's Moving Castle (2004)
Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta aka Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)
Gake no ue no Ponyo aka Ponyo (2008)

His other notable animated movies are
Majo no takkyûbin aka Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)
Kurenai no buta aka Porco Rosso (1992)
Nausicaa of the winds (1984)
